November 2009 - 2nd Middle East Parking Symposium
Barbara Chance gave the opening presentation about On-Street Parking at the Symposium held in Abu Dhabi from 9-11 November. The conference was attended by individuals from around the world, and topics included the new Department of Transport in Abu Dhabi, design issues, auditing, automated parking solutions, technology advances, and a wide variety of parking services.

September 2009 - Bienvenue! Venir au Quebec! The Canadian Parking Association is meeting in Quebec City on 27-30 September 2009. Barbara Chance will travel to this “world heritage treasure” to explore automated parking with the Association membership.

August 2009 - As part of the team selected by the General Services Administration, CHANCE Management will be working on the planning and delivery of the new United States Coast Guard complex outside Washington, DC.

July 2009 -CHANCE Management attended and exhibited at the Society of College and University Planning (SCUP) in Portland, OR. Despite the difficult economic times for many institutions of higher education, attendance at the conference was good and the activity in the Idea Marketplace was high.

July 2009 - The University of Rochester held the Meeting of the Parking Minds VI, with the topic “Survival in the Tight Economy”. Great presentations were given by University and private sector individuals, including one by a University of Rochester student who described a student project to bring biodiesel fuel manufacuring to the UR campus. Barbara Chance contributed to the conference, offering the seminar “Dollars and Sense in Tough Economic Times”.

April 2009 - Barbara Chance presents tips for developing a Request for Proposals at Texas Parking Association conference.

March 2009 - CMA and Princeton University present at the Mid-Atlantic SCUP Conference in Long Branch, New Jersey.
Barbara Chance and Scott Spencer from CMA, along with Kim Jackson, Director of Parking and Transportation Services at Princeton University presented "Park and Go Green on a University Campus" featuring the revamped Princeton Tiger Transit system.

March 2009 - CMA has been awarded a contract to perform a Transit System Evaluation by the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
CMA will identify how to efficiently provide services to the campus community, how to determine the priority services to be maintained in an era of declining resources and increasing costs, and develop solutions for implementation of improved transit routes and stops.

March 2009 - CMA Selected to Perform Transportation Consulting Services for Georgia Southern University.
CMA will perform a study of the University’s existing campus shuttle bus service to develop solutions and recommendations to improve service efficiency and reliability, specify new bus equipment, and increase ridership. A key issue is whether to continue the use of CNG vehicles.

January 2009 - Princeton University has launced a new campus transit system (link)
CMA worked on the transit initiative during the Campus Master Plan process and then helped to implement the new service through route analysis, budget development, and assistance with the RFP and evaluation of service providers.

December 2008 - Christopher Jurek, CMA's Planner/Project Manager, Obtains AICP certification
The American Institute of Certified Planners is the organization that conductes the certification process for planners nationwide.

December 2008 - CMA Wins Contract to Provide Auditing Services for the Pier 40 Garage in New York City
Teamed with DLC Consulting, CMA will work with HRPT to maximize the revenue from the 2,000+ space garage that provides the largest funding base for the Trust's park activities along the Hudson River.

October 2008 - Barbara Chance Presents at Joint Carolinas/Georgia Parking Associations Meeting
The Carolinas Parking Association and the Parking Association of Georgia held their joint fall meeting in late October at Hilton Head, NC.  Barbara Chance was invited to present a seminar, and she supported the conference theme (Navigating 21st Century Issues and Technologies) by presenting a session titled "Automated Parking:  What's the Real Deal?" October 2008 - CMA Awarded University of Connecticut Access Management Study
The University of Connecticut has retained CMA to undertake an Access Management Study at the Storrs Campus.  The project focuses on the logistics of deliveries, reducing pedestrian/vehicular conflicts, and protecting the amenities and landscaping of the campus.  CMA has worked on two previous master plans at UConn. 

September 2008 - CMA Wins Contract for Municipal-wide Parking Study in Norristown, Pennsylvania
CMA has recently been awarded a contract to provide Norristown, Pennsylvania with a comprehensive look at current and anticipated future parking conditions throughout the Municipality.

July 2008 - CHANCE Management Advisors Unveils New Tradeshow Booth at SCUP Conference in Montreal
SCUP – the Society for College and University Planning – held its annual conference in Montreal, Canada this month. CMA unveiled its new tradeshow booth and had the opportunity to meet with some familiar faces and potential new clients as well. See the photos

July 2008 - Princeton Campus Plan Wins SCUP/AIA-CAE Excellence in Planning for an Established Campus Award
At the 2008 Society of College and Urban Planners conference in Montreal, the Princeton Campus Plan team, on which CMA served as the parking and transit consultant, was awarded the SCUP/AIA-CAE Excellence in Planning for an Established Campus award. Read more

June 2008 - Delaware Residents Welcome Sunday Bus Service
Scott Spencer, Senior Transit Consultant at CMA and head of the Campaign for Sunday Bus Service, recently helped develop an operating plan, budget, and political strategy to successfully restore Sunday Bus service in Delaware. Read more

June 2008 - 2008 International Parking Institute Conference Presentation
Barbara Chance and Scott Spencer from CMA and Kim Jackson, Director of Parking and Transportation Services at Princeton University, presented a session at the 2008 International Parking Institute conference in Dallas, Texas on CMA's work at Princeton.
