Diagnosing Future Parking and Transportation for Medical Centers

CHANCE Management Advisors, Inc. has returned to Penn State Hershey Medical Center (PSHMC) to provide assistance as it continues to expand medical, academic, and research facilities.  Following the completion of a campus-wide analysis that yielded short-term recommendations for parking and transportation, the firm is now developing a parking demand model and assessing the needs for parking and transportation for the next 10 years.  CMA will provide recommendations to support the addition of an Innovation Pavilion for the College of Medicine, added floors on the Children’s Hospital, Emergency Department expansion, and continued internal growth.  PSHMC has been ranked the No. 4 hospital in Pennsylvania by U.S. News and World Report.

PSHMC’s project comes at a time when hospitals throughout the US are growing their outpatient services [1] and satellite centers, but also expanding their main campus surgery centers, emergency departments, and other critical medical functions.  The resulting changes in patient and employee populations call for the effective modeling of parking needs under dynamic conditions, a service in which CMA excels.  To learn more about CMA’s medical center experience, please click here.
